The essentials
Sunscreen & a cap or hat
The water reflects the sun even on hazy days — an hour on the open stretch is stronger than it feels.
Drinking water
Carry a bottle per person; there are no shops once you leave the jetty.
Phone or camera
The Kerala Spot and the sunset stretch are the two moments everyone photographs — keep your battery charged.
Sunglasses
Glare off the water is real, especially on midday rides.
Easy footwear
Sandals or floaters you can slip off — boarding is over the bow, and bare feet grip the deck best.
Situational extras
Sunrise rides (winter)
A light jacket or shawl — the river breeze before 8 AM is genuinely cool in December–January.
With small children
A snack, a change of clothes, and tell us in advance — we keep child-size life jackets ready.
Photoshoots
Bring outfits in a bag; there's space to keep it dry on board. Drones are welcome — just tell us your shot list first.
Monsoon visits
A raincoat or poncho rather than an umbrella, and a plastic pouch for your phone.
What to leave behind
- ✕Alcohol — not permitted on our boats
- ✕Loudspeakers on shared or regular rides (party boats are the exception — ask us)
- ✕Anything you'd cry about dropping in the river — wear the strap, or let the boatman hold it
- ✕Plastic that could blow into the water; whatever you bring aboard comes back with us
Already on the boat, so don't pack it
